Some of our clients are large but many are small business owners, and some are even micro business owners or hobbyists. Other clients are Non-Profit organizations with limited capital. The common factor with them all is that in most cases my clients could not afford a large web design firm but do need the expertise of an experienced, knowledgeable service provider.

Domain registration is your first step towards getting online. Once you have one, you're ready to get your website online. BMDS generally recommends registration for 5 years (min) at $16.25 per year |

Web hosting is a service which allocates space for customers to showcase their websites on computer servers that are connected to the Internet 24/7.

Explanation of common terms Used
| Domain Name Registration |
If you spend any time on the Internet sending e-mail or browsing the Web, then you use domain name servers without even realizing it. When you use the Web or send an e-mail message, you use a domain name to do it. For example, the URL "http://www.bluemoosedesignservices.com" contains the domain name bluemoosedesignservices.com. So does the e-mail address bluemoose@bluemoosedesignservices.com.
Human-readable domain names are easy for people to remember, but they don't do machines any good. All of the machines use names called IP addresses to refer to one another.
Somewhat like international phone numbers, the domain name system helps to give every Internet server a memorable and easy-to-spell address. Every time you use a domain name, you use the Internet's domain name servers (DNS) to translate the human-readable domain name into the machine-readable IP address. In the end, a domain name is intended to be a friendly and memorable "nickname" only. The true technical address of a web host is its Internet Protocol Address, or IP Address.

Typically, web space is rented, either on a yearly, quarterly or monthly basis. The server used is a powerful computer that runs on specialized high-speed connections.
