Website Design Options

Your website is a critical part of your image.  Visitors to your site see it as a direct reflection of the quality of your company, your products, and your services. We’ll help you deliver that quality image.

Affordability

At BMDS you get all the benefits of over 15 years of web design experience but at a price that won't break your budget. Some of my clients are large but many are small business owners, and some are even micro business owners or hobbyists. Other clients are Non-Profit organizations with limited capital. The common factor with them all is that in most cases my clients could not afford a large web design firm but do need the expertise of an experienced, knowledgable service provider.

Forms

Web forms are often the main communication channel between visitors and site owners. Feedback is always important which is why it’s necessary to make sure that web forms are easy to understand and intuitive to use. Nevertheless, even in form design one can afford some healthy portion of creativity.

Since web forms are probably one of the most important sections on the web-site, it’s necessary for the designer to make sure that visitors can easily understand what information they need to fill into the form fields. Complex and long web forms increase the cognitive load for users — they are just harder to deal with. Prefering simple and clean solutions seems like a sound approach. However, if the form was designed with an attention to details and looks good.

Website Optimization

Did you know that many websites are created in such a way that search engines can't find all their pages? With BMDS you don't have to worry. Extras

Having considered your form layout and the overall customization of the website, you should also consider a few things you may not have thought of. These include items like:

A verification option - This system reduces the potential of spam submissions from your forms by making the form submitter enter a verification code into your form prior to it being processed. This also prevents automated bots from submitting your forms.

File Attachment - placing a special file attachment field on the form provides users with the ability to submit files via e-mail attachments to you. An example of this would be a newspaper that anticipates submissions from the public. Note: there are limits on the file types that can be attached but generally these do not affect the responsible user of this feature.

PDF File Conversion - PDF files allow for scan or HTML conversion of your existing print materials (ie. forms or newsletters) to then be uploaded and viewed on the Web by free Acrobat Reader software. The original graphics and page layout are retained, and can be printed out by any printer. PDF pages are slower to load, and difficult to read online, but are beneficial if you have detailed text content. Using the latest technology some documents can be greatly reduced to a more manageable file size

Specialty Graphics and image optimization - You can include photographs, logos, backgrounds, special fonts, drawings, etc. to make your site more visually appealing to your visitors. In adding graphics to a Web page, it is important that those images load quickly without noticeable deterioration in quality. As artists with 15 years design and layout experience, we use sophisticated graphic software such as Photoshop, illustrator and DreamWeaver to keep all your Web images sharp, colorful, and quick loading.

Domain Name Registration - One of the first things a business or organization needs to consider is whether or not it wants its own domain name (i.e. http://www.yourname.com/). It is generally a good idea to secure a name when you go online, as it allows you the flexibility to switch ISP's at will and yet keep your same address. Having your own domain name does require being hosted at your own Internet Service Provider. We are available to assist any of our clients with the registration process. We also recommend a minimum of five years registration provides search engines with the perception that your domain is not a fly-by-night website which results in better website optimization.

Web Hosting with Statistics - On a daily basis, raw log files detailing activity within your site can be published to a web accessible location. You can then process these files for useful information about how people are using your site (total page hits, number of visitors, etc.). Web site statistics will let you know who is visiting your site, what web pages are the most popular and also the ones that are very rarely used, which search engines are sending you traffic, and what keywords they are using to find your web site. They can even tell you what browser and screen resolution your visitors are using. Web site traffic statistics are an extremely valuable information resource for your business. You will be able to make decisions on improving your site through the information they give you. Observing your visitor's behavior will help you address the issues they are having with your website.
