Book Cover Design

Whether you will be self-publishing and need to hire an artist directly or a publisher finds one for you, it's good to have a solid idea of the "feel" you would imagine for your book.

The ability to create a winning book cover design is a combination of creativity, marketing, branding experience and insight into how to capture your target audience’s attention and encourage them to buy.

Book cover design is an art form and we take pride in our work; we won’t settle until your cover is strong enough to seize attention and demand a closer look.

Having an Author for a wife (www.danimariebooks.com) she demanded No out-of-the-box templates or over-used fonts,

BMDS now has a small team of book designers who have created book cover designs, book interiors, branded series looks, imprint logos, author websites and marketing materials. As a freelance business we offer innovative book designs, quality customer service, and hands-on attention to your project.

Together we can create the perfect balance of colors, images and fonts that will help your book sell.

Childrens Book Illustration

It is amazing to see the evolution of illustration in children’s books.

Gone are the days where children’s books were just simply some pretty pictures for kids to look at.

Pick up a handful of children’s books at the store and you are bound to find a completely different style of illustration in each and every one of them.

Illustrators are the individuals who create the pictures in textbooks, storybooks, annual reports, cartoons, advertisements, packaging, posters, and anything else that is enhanced and clarified by artwork.

Artistic overview - the first book written was based on a family member so there was a selection of photographs available to use as a start. However, it soon became obvious that in order to illustrate the book additional digital illustration would be needed to compliment the overall story with compatible illustrations.

Artistic overview - Like the first book, it was based on a family member but there were limited photographs available to use as a start. The target reader was 2-3 years old so a new focus was needed. We needed to incorporate bright color and attempt to encourage the readers imagine in the illustrations rather than just focus on the story being told. greater use of cartoon and simple themes while still taking care to tell the story itself.
